Objectives

To design an automatic monitoring system for humidity and temperature in a mushroom cultivation chamber using SHT30 sensor module. To develop an automatic control system that maintains suitable humidity and temperature conditions for mushroom growth using DC cooling fan and Ultrasonic Mist Maker. To use the ESP32 microcontroller to connect the system via Wi-Fi for wireless data transmission between hardware and application. To connect the system to MIT App Inventor for real-time monitoring and controlling humidity and temperature through a smartphone.

Scope of project

ESP32 as main controller for data processing and wireless communication via Wi-Fi. SHT30 measures real-time humidity and temperature inside the cultivation chamber. DC cooling fan activated when temperature exceeds 25°C to maintain optimal growing conditions. Relay module electrically switches the humidifier and fan on/off based on ESP32 control signal Ultrasonic mist maker activated when humidity drops below 85% to restore optimal moisture levels. MIT app Inventor smartphone application for real-time remote monitoring of humidity and temperature Limitations such as CO₂ levels and lighting are beyond the scope of this project and are suggested for future improvement.

Project description

An IoT-based system designed for grey oyster mushroom cultivation. Uses an ESP32 and SHT30 sensor to monitor temperature and relative humidity. Automatically controls humidity using an ultrasonic mist maker. Controls temperature using a DC cooling fan. Uses Wi-Fi to communicate between the ESP32 and smartphone. Provides real-time monitoring through a MIT App Inventor application. Includes water level monitoring to ensure sufficient water supply. Aims to provide a more efficient and user-friendly mushroom cultivation system.
