Objectives

To reduce dependence on manual inspection by providing an water tank cleanliness monitoring system. To improve water cleanliness detection by ensuring settled dirt at the bottom of the tank can be measured.

Scope of project

Monitoring water tank cleanliness using a turbidity sensor as the main detection method. Improving cleanliness detection accuracy by using a water stirring mechanism to mix dirt and sediments that settle at the bottom of the tank before measurement. Providing real-time monitoring and alert notification to inform users when water cleanliness exceeds an unsafe level.

Project description

The Water Tank Cleanliness Monitoring System uses an ESP32 and SEN0189 turbidity sensor to monitor water turbidity. A stirring mechanism is used to mix dirt and sediments settled at the bottom of the tank before the turbidity measurement is taken. The ESP32 processes the sensor readings and compares them with a predefined threshold to determine the water status. The readings are displayed on the Node-RED Dashboard, while Telegram sends notifications to inform users about the water condition. When the water is detected as dirty, the system controls the solenoid valves to isolate the tank and perform the flushing process. This system is designed to improve water tank monitoring and reduce dependence on manual inspection in landed residential houses.
