Objectives

Design and develop an AI-based automated dog repellent system using Raspberry Pi for real-time dog detection. Implement a computer vision-based dog detection model and automatically activate an ultrasonic sound repellent when a dog is identified. Integrate the Raspberry Pi system with the Telegram Bot platform to send real-time alert notifications

Scope of project

The system is designed to detect motion using a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor within a limited range of approximately 3–5 meters. USB webcam is used to capture images when motion is detected for monitoring purposes. An AI model running on the Raspberry Pi is used to identify the presence of a dog from the captured image. An ultrasonic sound repellent is activated automatically, and a Telegram notification with the captured image is sent to the user via Wi-Fi when a dog is detected.

Project description

System Overview: An IoT-based automated smart dog repellent system developed using a Raspberry Pi 4. AI & Detection Mechanism: Integrates dual PIR motion sensors and a USB camera with a YOLO11 computer vision model to detect and verify dogs in real-time. Automated Action & Notification: Automatically activates an audio deterrent and spotlight while sending instant alert notifications via Telegram.
